"Lampascioni" (pronounced LAM-PA-SHO-NY) onions cannot be cultivated. They only grow wild, mostly in Italy's southeast regions of Puglia and Basilicata. They have a pleasant but mildly bitter flavor. Delicious added to salads, scrambled eggs or sandwiches.
